Tammy A. Zokan joined Moore Smith Buxton & Turcke, Chartered in 2001. Her practice emphasizes municipal finance law and general local government law. She serves as bond counsel to a number of cities, counties, library districts, school districts, water and sewer districts, and other governmental entities. She has also served as both municipal finance and general municipal legal advisor to a number of cities, districts, and other governmental bodies. She also practices in the areas of land use law, water law, and natural resource law.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Zokan represented the New Mexico State Engineer and the New Mexico Interstate Stream Commission. She represented the State Engineer in administrative hearing matters and in water rights adjudications before the U.S. District Court of New Mexico. She represented both the State Engineer and the Interstate Stream Commission in environmental litigation concerning the Endangered Species Act and the National Environmental Policy Act. Ms. Zokan also worked for the Shoshone County Prosecutor’s Office in Wallace, Idaho and the Idaho Attorney General’s Office – Division of Human Services in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Ms. Zokan received her law degree from the University of Idaho and her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Ms. Zokan is a member of the Idaho State Bar, the New Mexico State Bar, and the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
